Whispering Gully has developed an identity, which embraces the best elements of the Steiner Philosophy interwoven with an educational edge, which we believe, provides a child with the best possible environment to discover their optimum potential while nurturing their own individual personalities.
Whispering Gully will provide your child with a solid foundation and the skills required to successfully transition from their early educational experience, and onto the more formal primary and secondary educational years. During a child's time at the centre they will begin to develop many of their basic life skills via activities that are often based around play, games and role playing. Play, after all, is an essential element in a child's initial introduction to dealing with everyday issues.
Whispering Gully believes that as a child grows they require an increased level of stimulation to promote the expansion of their cognitive abilities, this is especially true in the preschool rooms and to that end, the children in these age groups are introduced to a wide variety of activities. These activities are focused on creating learning opportunities that lead to a well-rounded and capable child ready to move onto the next phase of their educational journey.
Steiner education is based on a holistic approach endeavoring to educate the whole child. This entails balancing artistic, academic and practical work as well as the heart, mind and hands of each child. We use fairy stories, folk tales, poems, music and games to nourish a child's awareness of feelings and strengthen their connection with our world civilization. Through a balanced approach children develop a strong sense of will, clarity of thought, sensitivity of feeling and a sense of responsibility for the earth and its inhabitants. Children are supported along their growth path, but allowed to savor their childhood.
Natural Materials
Whispering Gully Child Care Centre will provide an open environment which offers a variety of natural materials to create and play with.
